"TRUST" in the Intercultural Communication

3430Laughing

Hello everybody, we are "Laughing", we want to have fun in this course, and keep laughing all the time! Our memeber include:

Yeung Hiu Man, Cathy

Cheung Kei Kei, Yuki

Ngan Lit Kwan, Steven

Tam Lai Hung, Michelle
Wah Sai Fung, Nelson

We both come from Global Business System Management(GBSM)!

The creation of this blog is one of the assignment of the course—MGT3430 Intercultural Communication for Business. We are now going to discuss a blog which we think that it is quite successful in promoting Intercultural Communication.

The blog we have chosen to review is:

Introduction of Author

This cross-cultural communication blog, Cindy King, is created by Cindy. She is a cross-culture marketer and an international sales strategist. The blog shares the writer’s experiences an d information about difficulties in communicating among different countries.

The targets of the blog are international sales and marketing executives. It also provides a comment area which is a mean of exchanging ideas, asking questions, and leaving comments, it helps build a better relationship among Cindy and those international sales representatives.

The main motivation behind the creation of the blog is to convey the messages about the importance of intercultural communication skills to the world. Due to globalization, businesses from different countries transact with each other more frequently.

Why we choose this blog?

Intercultural Communication for Business (MGT3430) aimed to introduce and enhance students’ understanding on the key concepts, theories, and business practices of Intercultural communication. In Cindy’s blog, she divided her blog into several categories and under Cross-Cultural Communication we can find lots of information about Intercultural Communication. The content of her blog is very comprehensive. It covers different topics on Intercultural Communication, For instance, cross culture differences, and cross culture skills.

This year, Cindy stated out four Cross-Cultural Communication Challenges including Mindset, Clarity, Trust and Personal development. She provides daily short tips on each of these topics to help people improving their intercultural communication skills. She updates the blog every day to provide the latest information to the readers. Sometimes her posts were interrelated with each other, which make the readers keep reading the blog every day. Here is the free download Cross-Cultural Communication Calendar Poster designed by Cindy to help the readers on the skills. We think it is a very creative way to strengthen readers’ understanding on the topics. After reading Cindy’s post, you will think deeply on the topics of her post, as she will ask the readers some questions regarding the post, for example “How much effort in personal development do you think you need to develop cross-cultural skills?”

Here are the Tips provided by Cindy which we find it useful:

  • Clarity - “Ask questions to get specific information and avoid assumptions”

Sometimes, we make assumptions on what other people says by the characteristics of their culture and rare to ask for more information as we assume what we think is right.

  • Mindset - “Different cultures have different view points. Open your mindset to reach understanding.”

People have different perspective as people have different culture background and they have their own beliefs. When we talk with other people we need to open our mind to accept other people’s point of view. We need to look at an issue from another angle to get more new ideas which we never thought of.

Although Cindy did not provide examples to all the tips, many tips provided by Cindy are very useful and we can think of the tips ourselves and relate it to our real life experience when we communicate with others.

Cindy not simply teach the skills by wordings, she provide a list of Movies which the reader can improve their cross-cultural skills by watch them. It allows the readers to do thinking on culture issues independently when they finish watching the movies.

Whenever the readers want to ask for advices or chat with Cindy, there are several ways to interact with her such as Twitter, Facebook, Skype, etc. Also, when readers want to get more information about a certain topic, there are sources and articles on the blog provided by Cindy for the readers.

A key of cross-cultural communication: "TRUST"

According to the comments, many people think that the vital skill of successful cross-cultural communication is ‘TRUST’ since we cannot know everyone and understand their own mind. But how can we build up the relationship with people who come from variety of places and how to keep it for long time? Nowadays, “TRUST” plays an important role, as Cindy mentioned, if we communicate with people without trust, no one is willing to keep the relationship and they may be envious of each others. Furthermore, it will destroy the reputation and promises between others and begin a competition between countries. From our group of views, we agree that trust is the key of the intercultural communication. It is not only benefit to us, but also our community, even the world.

Firstly, communication with trust can build up a long-term and stable relationship between people who come from different countries. If we communicate without trust, there are only jealousy and cheating in the world, so there is no co-operation with each other. World War I and II are good examples; each country was envious of the other country, so they improved their military to protect themselves. They even built up the fake confederation against others; but all of these reflected that without the trust between countries. As a result, they could not co-operate with each other and led to war. The same theory applies to intercultural communication, trust is based on honesty, we need to open our mind and listen to each others so that it decreases the chances of misunderstanding and argument. Therefore, we can build up the firm and long term cross-cultural communication with trust.

Second, intercultural communication with trust can raise the reputation, it is not only our own personality, but also is our nationality. As Cindy mentioned, trust is based on honesty, so it also represent our own personality. If we can be an honest and believable person, many people are willing to make friends with us based on our good background and reputation. Therefore, we can gain the trust from others, indeed, we widen our interpersonal network. Besides, it benefits our business work because of good reputation. For instance, the clients or customers are confident of your company, without any written contract so that your company can guarantee the promise and they trust your company. In the future, the company will increase the chances of co-operation with other companies which are local or international; it is the easy way to be a globalized company. Furthermore, for the countries’ images, many people represent own nationality, we can make a good image to the others and show how your country civilization is.

However, there are some risks in it. Some people will take advantages of trust to do some illegal things, such as stealing the bank account numbers, signing the fake contract and so on. Therefore, we should pay more attention on it and further realize their own culture like working and daily style, personality. Therefore, intercultural communication is a complex knowledge; we should learn the basic theories and gain the real experience to understand the others in different culture.

Why we like the blog?
We like Cindy King’s Blog due to several reasons. First, the colorful design of the blog gets our attention and attracts us to spend time reading it.

Second, this blog gives some tips related to the cross-cultural communication in the business environment. Since the writer is a veteran international marketer, we find that the tips are particularly useful and practical. It will aid us a lot in the course to write a useful blog since there are also lots of examples illustrating the cultural differences among different countries.

Suggestion for Improvement

A concise content

Although Cindy King has already created a great blog, some improvements can still be made. The content of the blog can be shorter since the length of the content is sometimes quite long. Otherwise, the reader may feel bored when they read through the blog.

User-friendly

Also, her blog is quite difficult for beginners, the one who reads her blog first, to use. It is because the blog has lots of quick links, categories and resources pages. It seems easy to get lost on her blog at the first time. It would be better to be more user- friendly by adopting a simple approach.

Focus more on social aspects

Moreover, Cindy King’s blog seems to focus too much on business aspects rather than social aspects. Readers may not deeply analyze and understand on the intercultural communication. For examples, how different intercultural group of people communicates with each other? How to get along with others if cultural shocks existed? The blog didn’t illustrate much on this topic that university students, like me, would eager to explore more about it. Nevertheless, it is easy to show understanding for Cindy as she is a Cross Cultural Marketer &International Sales Strategist for 25 years who is full of experience and have lots of information about difficulties in communicating among different countries.

Comparison with other blogs

We found that this blog is more interesting comparing with others we found in the searching process. It is easy to understand the content since the writing is not very formal nor technical. So it is suitable for the beginners like us, who want to know more about intercultural communication, to read. It is more understandable.

In the search process, there are also other blogs that we found interesting but not as good as the one we have chosen:

1. Cross-Cultural Blog by Stanford exchange students
http://www.stanford.edu/group/ccr/blog/2009/04/intercultural_communication_in.html

This blog is about Globalization and cross-cultural communication. The content is in good quality but not rich enough. It consists of one article only. So, comparing to the chosen blog, ours is better in terms of the richness of content.

2. Wandering the world
http://www.clintrogersonline.com/blog/category/intercultural-communication/

This blog has lots of cross-cultural news all over the world from a global perspective. So it will be useful for the students who study the related issues. But, there are not enough daily examples in explaining the intercultural communication.

Thank You!
Thanks for all your comments, all of which are such a big help! We especially appreciated the information and advice you offered. Your assistance has been invaluable and makes us improve. We agree that our blog lacks of examples, so we now add more examples (e.g. the tips provided by Cindy.)

Also some of you talk about the “TRUST”. We have now given our point of view about this topic to you.

Thanks for “3430nice” comment to point out our mistake that there is a contradiction in our blog. And we have corrected it immediately.

At the end, some commentators suggested we could do more on the comparison part. We tried to do so, and hope you all can have a more comprehensive comparison among Cindy’s blog and others.

  1. The blog which is recommened by your group is really interesting.Instead of state the theory, the author try to use some real st
ories to illustraedte those cultural problem.

I remember that once i go to Tailand , I also encounter those cultural problems and i find that language is the biggest problem.

I also agree that some cultural problems are unpredictable. For one thing, you will not know the traditional custom in a specific countries before you really go to that place.
So, what we can do is modify our actions somehow to find a way out. We need flexibility.

Finally,I like the group name"laughing" ,since all of you have a sweet smile=]

  2. Hi Laughing, thank for your sharing of this useful blog. It provides us with many useful tips for intercultural communication, especially to build trust and smooth the differences between different cultures.

I think building trust is very important, no matter in cross-cultural or intra-cultural communication. We can only make friends if trust exists. I totally agree with what Cindy said in her own blog, "when are taken out of your familiar surroundings and put in a foreign place it is natural to become slightly disoriented", if trust is not there, how can people survive in an unfamiliar place?

In your blog, you've shared what you like about Cindy's blog, which gives viewers a preview of what attraction the blog has. It is good but I think you can give some examples on the tips Cindy provided. For example, you can talk about the tip you consider to be the most important. In my opinion, tip 11 is the most important one, "Clearly explain what you promise ", as in business world, promise refers to trust by some parts, and if the promise is misunderstood, than trust will be destoried.

Anyway, really appreciate what you've done. The blog is great.

This blog that u introduced share useful information which allow us to communicate with foreigner without any obstacles. For instance, one of the article “Delivering what you promise is important for your business” give us tips about the attitude towards different culture. Some country like Japan they think that people must do what they promise so u better make sure whether u can fulfill the promise before it was made.

However, viewers will easily get confused because the various contents that Cindy King’s blog contains. It is better if u illustrate more examples like which particular article u think can shows that this blog is excelling in sharing intercultural communication skills. Which specific part makes this blog become so successful.

  5. Hello Laughing!

I think you guys have used a descriptive word as your group name! Because I can really see that you love laughing! I can see there a nice introduction of your group members with individual photos. However, I would like to know more about your expectation in this course and maintenance of this blog.

This blog contains diverse topics in marketing, communication, sales, etc. She provided many theoretical tips to readers and preparations needed in intercultural business situation. For example, “Cultural Differences In Perception” is a lesson for me which talked about “why”, “what” and “how” in order to break down objections and add creditability. It is essential and credible in working environment of international business. As a student studying GBSM, I think these theories are very important in our future career.

I agree with 3430kwanjai that it is better if you can provide some examples of “Cindy King” with links, or daily examples which may relate to Cindy’s theories. That would be more interesting.

Cindy stated that although two parties also communicate in English, there would also difficulties in exchanging ideas because of different culture and that is why French companies found difficulties entering North American markets. Statement like this would attract our attention to read through the message and try to consider the reason behind.

I think Cindy’s blog is informative, but with commercial appearance. The hyperlinked pictures under each blog seem like promoting her products. This may make readers think that this blog is a promotional blog rather than a sharing blog. What I mean is, the advertisements in Cindy’s blog appear too often and should be placed in other way.

The blog which your group provided give many hot tips about establishing trust in cross-cultural communication. I believe that the skills are not inborn and it is a way to nurture ourselves. We may learn it from the real life experiences, however there is no second chance in the business world. It is better for us to study in advance for both personal and business level.

Refer to Candy’s blog, it mentioned how to cultivate self confidence individually expand to business environment in tip10. Meeting friends from different countries, we affect general perception of our nation, such as friendliness, education level etc. What are the influences when we are representing a company? In this case, the usage of cross-cultural communication skill becomes more complex, we collaborate with a team of colleague who can be the clients, partners and suppliers of the company. If they cannot work together because of insufficient communication skills, the company will lose business opportunity. Personally, it is not worth.

Although the techniques are different to communicate with people around the world, I convinced that some general principles rule can bring us to succeed. For instance, smile at the first sight can break the ice and impress others, keep eye-contact to show your respect.

We should always remember that it is no right or wrong about cultures. Different cultures have their history and meaning, it is no reason for us to challenge and criticize. ‘If you expect others to respect your own culture, you should set an example first.’

Laughing, I look forward to seeing the next recommendable weblog. Work hard!

  7. Thank you for sharing this blog.

This blog is promoting cross culture communication successfully. Actually, I have some knowledge on cross cultural communication because I have taken 2 related courses. After taking the courses, I know that cross cultural communication is very important in international business. Even the same gesture or sentence, there are different meaning in different countries. For example, making a circle with the thumb and the forefinger is a friendly gesture in the US, but it is a vulgar sexual invitation in Greece and Turkey. This blog enhance our knowledge in cross cultural communication. It is very useful for our future career if we have opportunity to work outside HK or China.

    Thanks for reading it.

  8. Thank for the sharing:)
I do agree that this blog is really really useful as most of us are BBA students. We are all have the possibility to become a sales and marketing executive one day,so we can know more about how people react in international business in this early stage. We are able to know how cruel is it.

Trust is really important among people.Do what you promise is a must in the business world. If you cheat others,no one is really to cooperate with you anymore. You will lose not only millions of money, but also you lose your honesty. After many years of working in the 'cruel business world',you will easily cheat the others due to your own interests as all you want is profits.Cindy's blog is a good reminder for these people - remind them TRUST is very important in the business field.

I think Cindy is a considerate author,as readers can contact her through different means and she is willing to give advices to the readers. Not many authors are willing to provide their personal contact to the readers due to the confidentiality.

Again, thank you for the sharing.Keeping on spreading 'laughing'to others:)

  10. I think this blog is very useful. It provides many tips of intercultural communication. More than that, Cindy King also shares a lot of her experiences in the marketing industry. For example, she talks about how to improve the marketing and sales and explains the tactics of international business. She is a person with a global perspective and her articles are useful for us who study Global Business Systems Management. Above all, we can gain life experiences from reading her articles. Many of her articales are about the her philosophy of life, rather than only communication skills. For instance, she tells us that we have to do what we promise. I think I benefited a lot from reading the blog.

  12. My dear Laughing, actually I am quite interested in your blog, as we both analyze the same blog which is written by Cindy King.

I choose your blog to comment is not only because we both recommend the same blog, it is also because I was attracted by your group bio. The bio photos of you guys are so funny, especially the Nelson’s photo. Your humorous style makes me believe that your blog will be quite funny and I will enjoy reading your blog. Also, your group photo can really show the team spirit of Laughing.

But there are some things that I suggest Laughing to improve.

First of all, there is a contradiction in your blog. In the part of comparison, you stated that
“We found that this blog is more interesting comparing with others we found in the searching process. It is easy to understand the content since the writing is not very formal nor technical. So it is suitable for the beginners like us, who want to know more about intercultural communication, to read.”
But on the other hand, in the part of Suggestion of Improvement you said
“her blog is quite difficult for the beginners to use. It is because the blog has lots of quick links and resources pages. It seems easy to get lost on her blog the first time. It would be better to be more user- friendly.”
So is the blog good for beginners to read? And who are the beginners? The beginners of using Internet or the beginners of learning intercultural communication? Your recommendations and analyses will be much more comprehensive if you have a clearer stand point.

Also, the comparison part is not deep enough to convince readers that the Cindy King blog is better than the others’. For the first comparison, Cross-Cultural Blog by Stanford exchange students, you have said that it is not as rich as the Cindy’s one, but how? For the second one, Wandering the world, you guys simply explain the blog rather than doing comparison. If you can have a deeper comparison that show how great Cindy’s blog is, readers will pay more attention to her blog.

Anyways, you guys have already done a great job. I really enjoy your blog as it is easy to follow and understand.

  13. Hello, I have just finished reading your blog which is really attractive.

I love the color of your blog very well. As it is in white color, it may imply
that every one starts from zero. In other words, we all grown up from a baby to an
adult and we all belong to the world.

What really comes as a surprise to me is that your group has chosen the blog of Cindy King as a topic. In my view, Cindy is an experienced professional who
specializes in international marketing. Your group let viewers know more
about her as well as her achievements.

The adoption of Q & A as a way to express ideas throughout the blog makes viewers
understand the aims of each paragraph clearly.

Now, it is very convenient and easy for viewers
to find out more about intercultural communication skills because they can go to
Cindy’s blog and learn from her blog.

Another area which is praiseworthy is the comparisons
and contrasts made in your blog. Comparisons determinethe quality of bolgs.

The links provided are of particular use because viewers
can go directly other blogs and view other
    ways to enhance intercultural communication.

Albeit Cindy's blog is a little difficult for beginners, it depicts a comprehensive picture of cross-cultural communication.

I strongly agree that trust and expectation are of paramount importance in business.

I partly agree with your groups suggestions for Cindy's blog because I think the content of Cindy's blog is, in fact, not very long.
It may be too long for a Chinese but not a foreigner.

Overall, your blog made a very good analysis and comments concerning intercultural communication. I become more and more enthusiastice about MGT3430 as we go ahead.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love your blog
I agreed with you that this is a wonderful blog which is rich in content. It posted many related passage elaborating on how people can do business in the international cultural communities. For example, Cindy used her island hopping expedition (http://cindyking.biz/are-you-afraid-of-flying/) to illustrate how people cope with foreign culture. And by concluding her daughter’s reaction in explaining how intercultural differences occurred.
The blog does tell us cultural differences in doing business, especially international businesses. The author do definitely provides many useful tips and her personal experience in doing business with foreigners. (http://cindyking.biz/different-cultures-do-things-differently/)

Focus too much on business aspects
Would the blog you chose focus too much on the business aspects but not the social aspects? I can reap most of the knowledge on intercultural differences in doing business. But this kind of information cannot provide me, as a reader, to gain deepen understanding on the intercultural social content. For examples, how different intercultural group of people communicates with each other? How to get along with others if cultural shocks existed? The blog do tell us people with different cultural background have different interpretation in the same words like cross-culture, multi-culture, inter-culture and racial. (http://cindyking.biz/different-definitions-for-culture-words/) I agreed that we should also take interpretation into account when dealing with cultural differences. The blog didn’t illustrate much on this topic that university students, like me, would eager to explore more about it.

Your blog content is not enough
Your group has described some good features that Cindy’s blog has possessed of. For instance, comprehensive content, colourful design, questions to trigger people’s thinking and continue update of the blog. You guys take her blog as your research topic by only stating some revealable features. This may not reasonable enough as your reasons to love this blog. There should be more than that and there are rooms for your group to enrich your blog content. For example, how Cindy’s blog could benefit you or your group in mastering the intercultural communication skill in life? In (http://cindyking.biz/different-cultures-do-things-differently/), it states that people must never forget that different cultures do things differently. There is no right way or wrong way, there is only different way. You guys can incline to elaborate more on this trend. Or what have you or your group leaned from her blog? Maybe your group could tell the readers more about the social aspects of the intercultural life. It will make the blog sounds more interesting.

    Wonderful blog your group provided
I love reading Cindy’s blog. This is a good blog and she offered many insightful perspectives in dealing with intercultural communication in business. This is not simply working with the foreigners. This is an art of interactions. Your own personality make up an individual, an individual make up a small group, a small group make up an organization and finally an organization make up a society. There are cohesive ties among an individual and a society. This blog really helps me to get to know other cultural differences in business and prepare well for the international marketing strategies. I am very much appreciated your groups great work in finding this useful website. I love reading it, again, thank you so much.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Your group creates an interesting group name, it really attract me to read your blog. You post your pictures; all of you wear smiles on your face. It really can make the reader feels happy. Good start!

Cross-cultural is very important all over the world. Different countries have different culture. If we don’t know well about other countries’ culture, we will get trouble in there. For example, I know that people need to take off our shoes before going to fitting room in Japan. If we don’t do that, we are impolite. Therefore, this blog really can provide some important information for us before we go to travel.

There is lots of useful information in this blog, but how it relates to creativity and innovation? Your group doesn’t tell us why it is creative and innovation. So, your group needs to provide more evidence to prove it.

Moreover, the blog provides too many informative resources, and seldom provides the pictures. It is too boring for viewers. I recommend the author provide some interesting video and pictures. It can attract more viewers to visit the blog.

I love the blog very much, it really provides us useful information, I am looking forwards the next blog of your group. Keep the good job. Thank you for your sharing.

  16. Thank you for sharing the blog to us. Your group name is so simple but meaning that I think all of us should be happy with laughing everyday so that our life would be better. Also, laughing and smile can give a better impression and atmosphere for others.

Honestly, communication can be very creative because there is no one absolute correct method and way to communicate with others, as everyone would have their own personality, especially people with different culture. So, you can think many creative ideas and ways to deal with and communicate with people.

I also think that this blog can promote creative communication methods because the blog is interactive. In other words, as mentioned, the author of the blog would communicate with readers of the blog that they would ask each other questions and have discussion. It is helpful for retaining viewers to read it frequently.

  17. Hi, nice to meet your group, laughing. Your blog is nice and it is easy for reader to read your blog as it is clear and simple. What you need to improve is that, you should mention more detail of the blog you chose. It seems that the information about that blog, Cindy King's blog, is not enough.

After reading both your blog and Cindy's blog, I think that it is useful for readers who want to improve their cross cultural communication skill. Cindy's blog is really good by providing a numbers of tips on cross cultural communication. However, as what you mentioned before, it seems too long and complicated for readers to read her blog.

Besides, I found that it may be difficult for some readers to understand and apply what Cindy mentioned as it seems more theoretic than practical. Having some examples would be better.

In fact, I suggest that your group may have some questions on what Cindy said, like what other factors we should consider rather than trust. Or, maybe you can develop your thinking based on what she said and then express your ideas with other readers, so that we can deeply discuss about this issue.

Hope that my comment could be helpful to you~~ And I'm looking forward to your sharing in future~~

  18. Thank for your sharing.

I am attracted by your group name-Laughing. It gives me the sense of positive feeling. I do believe that smile can eliminate the intercultural difference. Also, every member in your group have sweet smile. =) The design of your blog is so nice that gives me harmonious feeling.

As we are all business students, the blog which your group provided is really useful for us. The content of the blog is mainly about the scope of business. I believe we would face the similar problem of intercultural communication that mentioned in Cindy King’s blog as we are global business student.

In Cindy’s Blog, she gives us some tips about the intercultural communication. She focuses on the important of trust. I do agree that building trust can make our communication more effective, especially for strangers with different culture. If we don’t trust on others, we would just ignore their message. It would cause obstacles in the process of communication. Moreover, I think that the comment of readers can encourage the share of ideas. It is really great.

Besides, I think it is a great idea to include the part of comparison with other blogs. It can allow us to have different point of view about the intercultural communication. Also, we can learn more about different issues of intercultural communication to enrich our knowledge. But I think it is better to have critical comparison rather than just briefly explain the content of other blogs. The deeper comparison can highlight the attractiveness of Cindy King’s blog.

Keep the good job and looking forward to your next post :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi Laughing, I have just finished reading the blog, and I found that your blog are really inspiring. The tips provided by Cindy do help businessmen, or BBA students to have an insight into cross-cultural communication. I believe that you will be an expert in cross-cultural communication if you have mastered all of the concepts mentioned.

However, I need to admit that the blog is like a textbook rather than a blog. It gives no examples nor elaborations about the concepts mentioned. Without further illustration, it is very difficult to understand the content in the blog.

Besides the aforementioned points, the tips mentioned in the blogs are too general. Cindy mentioned that the most important thing in making a deal is to do what you have promised to your customers. Yet, this tip seems to be too generic, and it seems to be applicable to all customers, regardless of a person’s nationality and cultural background. In fact, having cross-cultural communications are not as simple as it appears. There is no single, universal model for negotiations. The negotiation skill depends much on factors such as nature of a race, history background, religion, politics, etc. For example, signing a contract in America means the finalization of a transaction. Yet, singing a contract in China is merely a document. In order to have a successful transaction, you need to develop a good long-term relationship with your customer.

I am not saying that the tips shared by Cindy are useless. They will be perfect in serving as reminders when having cross-cultural communications. However, I think that the most successful way to share ways to overcome the communication barrier is to share one’s experiences.

  20. When I click on this website, all of the happy faces appear. I can see that all of your beautiful/ handsome faces are really “laughing”. You stated that, “we want to have fun in this course, and keep laughing all the time”. I really appreciate this since you treat this course as fun. It will be more efficient to learn in a relax atmosphere without pressure. Hope all of you can really enjoy the learning time!

It is really good for readers to learn different culture skills. For me, I seldom travel to other countries; I do not familiar with other countries’ culture. After I read this blog, I know how I can get more such kind of information in order to widen my horizon.

As a business student, we have chance to travel to different countries to do our business in our future career. This blog gives some tips related to the cross-cultural communication in the business environment. Thus, it is so useful for our future job.

However, I feel that the content in your blog is not detail enough. You seem just mention that this blog is about the cross-culture communication. Nonetheless, it does not mention enough information about this.

Moreover, Cindy’s blog is a bit complicated since there are lots of categories. People who use this blog feel confused since they feel difficult to find the information that they need. It wastes readers’ time.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I am interested in your group name. When I go to your blog, I feel happy since there are so many happy faces. I love your blog.

I think this blog is very suitable for all of us since we are all business students. We have many chances to communicate with different people. For example, we can know what should do and what should not do in different country. If we can know better in different culture, it is good for us in the business field.

However, there are too many complicated for viewers to read. I suggest that the author can use a point form to elaborate the point since it is easier for reader to understand. If the article is too long, the reader may feel bored and stop reading. So point form is the simple way to keep people attraction.

By the way, I love your blog very much. It is really creative and innovation. You guys know how to attract the viewer’s attention. Your group provides some funny pictures. Good job!

  22. I like all your smiles very much! I think there would be a lots of fun in your group, therefore it's called "Laughing"?

Actually i think the blog you provided is quite useful. We would have more and more chances to have communication and contacts with some foreigners in Hong Kong. This blog has given me a lots of tips to build up trust with people who have different cultural background.

In this blog, it said that one should do what he promised to do. Well, it's not only the tip to build up the trust with international clients, but with everyone, isn't? If one can do what he promises to his friends,or his family, they will trust him too. Well, it seems not a special tip for cross-cultural communication.

I quite appreciate with the comparison with other similar blogs. It is very detailed, and those blogs are also interesting.

    Good job!

  23. What a surprise and an honor!

I have greatly appreciated reading through both the article and the comments. I need some time to digest them, but there are several thoughts here that would be great to explore:
    - the cross-cultural issues you bring up
    - ways to improve my blog for different audiences

    A sincere thank you.
